SaCIP Support Services was registered as a firm in July 2002 under cap 388 of the Laws of
Zambia. It evolved from experience derived by its founders in off-shore Navision implementations
that were being done in the country by a foreign company. The key players of those implementations,
which started in the mid 90s, a Zambian and a Kenyan then setup SaCIP Support Services with a view
to developing applications within the Navision environment and selling the standard Navision solution
reflecting specific client requirements, needs and wishes.
The task immediately was to transform SaCIP into a Navision Solution Centre (NSC) but that was
not a very easy task as almost immediately Microsoft bought a stake in Navision and the modalities of
partnership were not very clear then. Thus SaCIP was forced to form alliances with some of the best
known Navision Solution Centres then in order to continue delivering the Navision solution as well as
build its human resource capacity. These included Vega Software of Kenya, AkiliAfrica (formerly Calbro)
also of Kenya – Akili has been the best Navision Partner in West, East and Central Africa for the last
5 years – and NGO Consulting of South Africa. So from 2002 SaCIP delivered licenses using these Alliances
though it carried out its own implementations.
However, in June 2004, SaCIP became a registered member of the then new Microsoft Partner Program (MSPP),
but as a direct response to new demands for improved service delivery and MSPP/SPA requirements, it
converted from a firm to a limited company and was incorporated on the 20th of January 2005. In February
2005 SaCIP finally signed a Solution Provider Agreement (SPA) to be authorized by Microsoft to directly
deliver Navision licenses to end users without utilizing other partners.
In June 2005 SaCIP become the first Zambian company to satisfy the requirements of the SPA by passing a
set of predetermined exams – Navision Financials, Navision Solution Development and Navision Manufacturing.
From then on, SaCIP has been on a record breaking mission as regards excellence in the Navision ERP solution.
By meeting the requirements of the SPA in 2005, SaCIP in the process set history not only by having the first
Zambians to pass Navision exams but also the only company to have Navision Certified Professionals – a feat
which remained unchanged until 2007. SaCIP has grown from only having three Certified Navision Consultants to
7 professionals having 15 certifications spread across vital application areas such as Financials, Development,
Manufacturing, Business Intelligence, Warehouse Management, Trade, Inventory, Jobs, Resources, Fixed Assets
Management etc.
Recently SaCIP broke the records again, becoming the first ever native Gold Certified Partner in Zambia.
Either than organizations operating with certifications from outside the country, SaCIP ended the first
quarter of 2009 as the only Gold Certified Partner in Zambia. Simply SaCIP is the “supplier of choice” if
you would wish to implement an ERP/CRM solution.
